About the Role
Our company is seeking a Part-Time Construction Apprentice to assist with commercial and residential projects. This role will require up to 50% travel and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction field. The Part-Time Construction Apprentice will work under the supervision of our experienced construction team and will be responsible for assisting with various construction and basic plumbing tasks as assigned.
Assist with the preparation of construction sites before work begins, including laying out tools and materials, setting up scaffolding, and clearing debris.
Perform various manual labor tasks such as digging trenches, carrying and stacking building materials, and operating construction equipment as directed.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all workers on the job site.
Assist in measuring, cutting, and installing building materials as instructed.
Learn how to read and interpret blueprints and building plans to assist with construction tasks.
Perform basic plumbing tasks such as installing and repairing pipes, valves, and fixtures.
Keep the job site clean and organized to ensure efficient work processes.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
Drive company vehicles to transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction field.
Basic plumbing skills and knowledge.
Valid driver's license, minimum age of 25 years old, and a clean driving record.
Ability to work up to 50% travel as required.
Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions.
Ability to operate basic construction equipment such as power tools, saws, and drills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred but Not Required Skills:
Experience with concrete work.
Knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems.
Certification in welding or other metalworking skills.
Familiarity with building codes and regulations.
OSHA 30 Certification.
